- 2019 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Weightlifting Championships was held at Eastern National Sports Training Center in Pattaya, Thailandfrom September 18-27, 2019. It was organized by Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association and it was a qualifying event for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
- China topped the medal tally with 10 Gold, 5 Silver & 3 Bronze followed by North Korea and Armenia.
- Egypt was banned from competing due to doping offenses.
