Satpura Tiger Reserve
▪ It was established in 2000 and is located in the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh, nestled within the Satpura ranges and south of the Narmada River

RICE VARIETIES
▪ Union government has introduced two varieties of Rice – “Pusa DST-1” & “Kamala”, which have been created through ‘gene editing’.
▪ The developers of these varieties have cut and deleted parts of the rice genome, with a claim
that these varieties have increased the yield, and have tolerance to drought and salinity
Forest Rights Act, 2006
▪ Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition Of Forest Rights) Act,
popularly known as FRA was enacted in 2006.
▪ Objective: To undo historical injustice occurred to forest dwelling communities; ensure their
livelihood & food security etc.
▪ Forest Rights Recognized Under FRA:
▪ Individual Rights: Rights of Self-cultivation & Habitation, In-situ rehabilitation etc.
▪ Community Rights: Grazing, Fishing & access to Water bodies in forests, right to intellectual
property & traditional knowledge, right to protect traditional customary rights

Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act of 1991
▪ Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act of 1991 is an Indian law that prohibits the conversion of any place of worship and mandates that the religious character of a place of worship must remain unchanged from its status on August 15, 1947
