Blue Flag Certification
▪ Each beach is awarded the Blue Flag certification considering 33 aspects such as water quality,
environmental management, and safety.
▪ In that regard, in the current financial year, it was announced that steps will be taken to award the Blue Flag certification to the beaches in Thiruvanmiyur, Palavakkam, Utthandi,
Kulasekaranpattinam in Thoothukudi district, Kilputhupattu in Villupuram district, and
Samiyarpettai in Cuddalore district.
