Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM)
▪ It is a rare, typically fatal brain infection caused by the microscopic amoeba Naegleria fowleri.
▪ Infection occurs when contaminated warm, fresh water is inhaled, allowing the amoeba to enter the brain and cause rapid inflammation.
▪ Symptoms, including headache, fever, and stiff neck, progress quickly, leading to coma and death within days of the initial infection
Atomic Energy Commission (AEC)
▪ Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) of India was first established in August 1948 under the
Department of Scientific Research, with Dr. Homi J. Bhabha as its first chairman.
