Anbukkarangal initiative
▪ Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the Anbukkarangal scheme.
▪ Aim – To financially support the education of children, who have lost their parents, till they
complete 18 years of age.
▪ Under the initiative, each of these children would receive a monthly aid of Rs. 2,000 till they
complete their school education.
▪ The initiative is part of the Thayumanavar scheme
▪ Aim – To identify and aid the livelihood of those in poverty.
▪ The Anbukkarangal programme also aims to ensure that these children complete their school
education, provide support for their higher education, and impart appropriate skills, among others
