USAID Funding in India (FY 2023-24)
▪ The Finance Ministry’s annual report for 2023-24 reveals that The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) allocated $97 million for seven projects in India in 2023-24.
▪ Project Areas: Funding was directed toward agriculture, food security, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), renewable energy, disaster management, health, climate adaptation, and energy efficiency technology commercialization.
▪ No Funding for Voter Turnout (Voter Turnout means it is a crucial electoral tool for real-time tracking and monitoring of voter participation systematically).
