- A compact and portable solid-state sensor has been developed by the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS) to detect the heavy metal ions in water. The solid-state sensor is a portable device which can help in onsite detection of heavy metal ions in water in remote areas. This compact solid-state sensor detects the presence of heavy metal ions such as lead, mercury and cadmium, which can pose severe potential threats to living beings.
