‘Agni-5’ missile
▪ The Agni-5 ballistic missile, which can hit targets at a distance of 5,000 km, has been
successfully test-fired.
▪ The test was conducted at the Integrated Test Range in Chandigarh, Odisha.
▪ The missile has a range of up to 350 km, including northern China, and parts of Asia and Europe.
▪ Last month, India successfully tested the Prithvi-II, which can carry a warhead of 500 kg and
can hit targets at a distance of up to 350 km, the Agni-1, which can carry a warhead of 1,000
kg and can hit targets at a distance of 700 to 900 km, and the Pralay, which can carry a
warhead of 500 to 1,000 kg.
