▪ According to the report, nearly all of the nine nuclear-armed countries, including India and
Pakistan, continued intensive nuclear modernisation programmes in 2024, upgrading existing
weapons and adding newer versions.
▪ According to the SIPRI estimates, India’s stored warheads increased to 180 in January 2025,
from 172 in January 2024.
