Operation Falcon
▪ Operation Falcon is a joint initiative by Assam Police and Forest Department, launched last year to combat rhino poaching.
▪ Assam has 2,895 rhinos (2022 census), mainly in Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve
(2,613 rhinos).
▪ Orang National Part and Tiger Reserve, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary and Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve have 125, 107 and 50 rhinos, respectively.
