Pankaj Kumar Singh appointed as Deputy NSA

  • The Appointment Committee of Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Pankaj Kumar Singh as the Deputy National Security Adviser in National Security Council Secretariat
  • Pankaj Kumar Singh, a 1988 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, previously served as the Director General of Border Security Force (BSF)

About National Security Council:

    • The NSC was established in 1998 by the government of AB Vajpayee
  • It is the executive agency responsible for advising the Prime Minister’s Office on issues of national security and strategic interest.
  • 1st National Security Advisor (NSA) – Brajesh Mishra
  • Present National Security Advisor – Ajit Kumar Doval
