Growth in industrial activity slowed to a 10-month low
▪ Industrial growth slowed to a 10-month low of 1.5% in June 2025, down from 1.9% in May, marking
the weakest performance since August 2024, as per Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data.
Index of Industrial Production (IIP)
▪ The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is a key statistical tool used to measure the short-term changes in the volume of production in Indian industries.
▪ It provides insight into the growth or contraction of industrial activity over a given period, making it a crucial economic performance indicator.
▪ The IIP is published by the Central Statistics Office(CSO), which is part of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
▪ The current base year for the index is 2011–12.

E-shram portal
▪ More than 30.95 crore unorganized workers have registered on the e-SHRAM portal .
▪ In Tamil Nadu, there are more than 92.95 lakh unorganized workers.
▪ It was launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment on 26th August 2021
▪ It is designed to create a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW).
▪ It is the first-ever national database of unorganised workers including migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers,
▪ The primary responsibility for disaster management lies with the state governments.
