Global Tourism Investors Summit

    • Government of India would host the 1st Global Tourism Investors Summit from 10th to 12th April 2023 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
    • It is a part of the India’s Group of Twenty (G20) presidency
    • It is organized by the Union Ministry of Tourism with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as the industry partner
  • Objective: To bring together global business leaders and policymakers to understand and explore Tourism Business opportunities in India.

About Group of Twenty (G20):

    • It is an informal group of 19 countries and the European Union, with representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
  • The G20 focuses on a broad agenda of issues of global importance and issues pertaining to the global economy

India’s Presidency:

  • India holds the Presidency of the G20 from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023
  • The Theme of India’s G20 Presidency – “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth, One Family, One Future”

World Employment and Social Outlook: Trends 2023

  • It is released by the International Labour Organisation (ILO)

Highlights:

    • The present global economic slowdown is anticipated to worsen social and economic inequalities
  • Global unemployment is expected to rise slightly which amounts to the rate of 5.8%
  • “Global Jobs Gap” – A new comprehensive indicator of unmet employment needs
