Jiyoparsi scheme

  • According to the Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the population of Parsis (Zoroastrians), a notified minority community under National Commission of Minorities Act 1992, increased by 233since the year 2013, when the government launched the Jiyo Parsi scheme.
  • So far the central Government has spent Rs 14 crore in 7 years for this scheme.

About Jiyo Parsi scheme:

  • It is run by the Ministry of Minorities affairs with the aim to increase the population of the Parsi community.
  • It has two components: Medical Assistance and Advocacy (Counselling).
