Aurora Red Arc Event
Aurora Red Arc Event was recently captured at the Hanle Dark Sky Reserve in Ladakh.
▪ Astronomers of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru (IIA) captured the auroras through the Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO) in Hanle, Ladakh.
▪ Auroras are usually seen in high-latitude regions namely the North and the South Pole.
Aurora borealis – South Pole
Aurora australis – North Pole

▪ Auroras are the result of disturbances in the Earth’s magnetosphere caused by the solar wind.
