World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan
▪ The National Level Coordination Committee (NLCC) held its first meeting for the implementation of the World’s largest grain storage plan in New Delhi.
▪ This plan envisages to transform Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) into Multi-Service Societies through convergence of various existing schemes of the Government of India (GoI),
such as,
Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF)
Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure Scheme (AMI)
Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM)
Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME)
About Grain Storage Plan
▪ Introduced as a pilot project in 11 states in 2023.
Implementation – National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)
Objective – To address the shortage of food grain storage capacity in India.
