National workshop on Jain Manuscriptology
▪ A National Workshop on Jain Manuscriptology was held at Gujarat University.
▪ Organised By: Ministry of Minority Affairs
▪ Held under the aegis of varsity’s Department for Validation of Indic Knowledge through Advanced Research and funded by the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK).
▪ This is part of a larger vision under the PMJVK to uplift and empower all six notified minority communities — Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains — by supporting academic research and heritage conservation.
▪ A similar initiative is already under way in collaboration with Mumbai University to preserve the Avesta and Pahlavi languages of the Parsi Zoroastrian tradition.
NITI Aayog on Poverty Reduction
▪ 24 crore Indians were lifted out of multidimensional poverty between 2013-14 and 2022-23,
according to NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery.
▪ The statement was made at an event organized by the Indian Embassy to the UN in New York.
▪ India is making progress in reducing maternal and child mortality, moving toward its health goals.
▪ India’s progress has been made possible by a dual strategy: strong safety nets to protect the most vulnerable people and growth-supporting reforms.
Bank of India Celebrates ‘Kisan Diwas’
▪ Bank of India (Chennai Zone) celebrated Kisan Diwas (Farmers’ Day).
▪ The event aimed to encourage farmers, agri and food processing entrepreneurs, and women’s selfhelp groups (SHGs).

▪ This day marks the birth anniversary of Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh, India’s fifth Prime Minister, renowned for his deep understanding of rural issues and unwavering advocacy for farmers’ welfare.
