Committee formed for rethink on NPS for Government employees
- The four member committee will be led by Finance Secretary T.V. Somanathan and includes the chairman of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) that oversees the NPS adopted for government employees hired on or after January 1, 2004.
About National Pension System:
- The Central Government has introduced the National Pension System (NPS) with effect from January 2004 (except for armed forces).
- NPS is being implemented and regulated by Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority(PFRDA) in the country.
