PM Modi Inaugurates NAMO Medical College In Silvassa 

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the NAMO Medical Education & Research Institute at Silvassa town in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
  • The inauguration of the first-ever medical college in the UTs of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu has become a ray of hope for the people living in the region, 40 per cent of whom are tribals. 
  • The medical college complex has been constructed at a cost of 203 crore.

PM lauds ‘shared history’ of Saurashtra and Tamil Nadu

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the “shared history of Saurashtra and Tamil Nadu”.
  • The Conclusion of the ‘Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam’ described the festival as the “confluence of nationalist fervour of Sardar Patel and famed Tamil poet Subramania Bharati”.
  • The Gujarat government organised the ‘Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam’ during which thousands of people in the southern State, with roots in Saurashtra, visited the places of their ancestors by special trains organised by the Centre.
  • This celebration of the country’s unity is also fulfilling the dreams of lakhs of freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to see Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat [One India, Best India],”

Nano DAP(di-ammonium phosphate)

  • Union home minister Amit Shah launched the world’s first liquid Nano DAP-a novel nano fertiliser containing nitrogen and phosphorus at New delhi.
  • Nano DAP is the second such variant of fertiliser. 
  • Nano Urea was the first one in this series, launched in February, 2021. 
  • The manufacturing units of Nano DAP have been done by IFFCO which has patents of both the Nano variant of liquid fertilisers.
