Web Portal with Statistical Data of Chemical Sector

  • The Union government launched a web portal providing statistical data related to the chemical sector for the benefit of all stakeholders.
  • The portal www.charak.chemicals.gov.in will facilitate the collection of statistics related to various aspects of the chemical sector, such as production, installed capacity, export, import, purchases and sales.
  • It was developed by Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals along with the National Informatics Center (NIC).

Agreement for OVEP in India

  • The International Olympic Committee (IOC) with the Olympic Museum along with Reliance Foundation signed a new cooperation agreement to expand and promote the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) in India.

  • Objective – To introduce young people to the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship.
  • First launched in Odisha in collaboration with the Abhinav Bindra Foundation Trust (ABFT)

Centre seeks inclusion of traditional medicine on WHO’s list

  • The Union government has sought the inclusion of Ayurveda and related systems in the 11th revision of the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Diseases (ICD). 
  • The move is meant to put the Indian system of medicine on the world map and provide it with a common standardised language.
  • ICD: It provides a common language that allows health professionals to share standardised information across the world. 

Measures to develop Ayurveda in India 

  • Traditional Medicine module of the 11th revision: It provides a list of diagnosis tics categories to collect and report on medicine conditions in a standardised and internationally comparable manner. 
  • National Ayush Morbidity and Standardised Terminologies Electronic portal (NAMSTE): Provides Standardized Terminologies & Morbidity Codes for Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani systems of medicine. 
  • Ayush Health Information Management System: Comprehensive IT platform to effectively manage all functions of health care delivery systems and patient care in Ayush facilities.
