Gaganyaan test flight successful

  • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully completed its first test flight to demonstrate a crew escape system for the Gaganyaan mission.
  • It was lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
  • The Test Vehicle Abort Mission 1 (TVD1) flight was meant to simulate an abort situation, and demonstrate the system to safely carry the crew module out of the vehicle in case of emergencies.

About TVD1

  • It is a single stage liquid rocket.
  • The payloads consist of the CM and crew escape systems (CES), CM fairing (CMF) and interface adapters.
  • The technical infrastructure for Gaganyaan was provided by KCP Ltd.

About Ganganyaan Mission

  • Objective – To demonstrate the capability to launch human beings (three crew members) to low earth orbit of 400 km and bring them back safely to earth by landing them in either the Bay of Bengal or the Arabian Sea.
  • Four pilots are undergoing training at the Astronaut Training Facility in Bengaluru.

Website of “Kasturi Cotton Bharat” launched

  • Union Minister of Textile, Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution launched the website https://kasturicotton.texprocil.org of Kasturi Cotton Bharat.
  • The website provide a digital platform for necessary information and updates on this initiatives
  • It highlights the registration process for ginners to produce Kasturi Cotton Bharat Brand and its processes that make the branded Indian cotton unique.

About the Kasturi Cotton Bharat

  • Launch – October 7, 2023
  • It is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Textiles, the Cotton Corporation of India, Trade Bodies & Industry.
  • Objective
  • To work on the principle of self-regulation by owning complete responsibility of Branding, Traceability and Certification of Indian Cotton.
  • To enhance competitiveness of Indian Cotton in the global market and create a sustainable ecosystem for all stakeholders involved.
