Semicon India-2025
▪ Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Semsicon India 2025, which was attended by over 20,000 participants, including CEOs of semiconductor companies, industry experts, innovators, and 2,500 delegates from 50 countries, as well as students from various states.
First indigenous semiconductor chip
▪ The first indigenous semiconductor chip developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was presented to Prime Minister Modi by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the Semicon India-2025 International Symposium.
▪ The chip, called “Vikram-32” (officially ‘Vikram3201’), is India’s first fully indigenous chip
designed to operate in all the harsh environmental conditions of a missile.
▪ Based on a 32-bit architecture, this chip will play a significant role not only in the aerospace sector, where it can efficiently handle large amounts of data, but also in the defense, automobile and energy sectors
