Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS)
▪ It has been implemented since 2006 and completed 20 years on February 2.
▪ MGNREGS is integrated with multiple Central and State schemes, such as:

▪ The scheme supports construction of compound walls, warehouses, anganwadi centers, and rural housing.

‘Jan Aushadhi Diwas’ (People’s Pharmacy Day)
▪ The Prime Minister’s Jan Aushadhi Scheme is being implemented by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, with the aim of selling quality medicines at affordable prices to the public.
▪ March 7th is celebrated as “Jan Aushadhi Diwas” every year to promote generic medicines on behalf of the Central Government.
▪ Jan Aushadhi Kendras sell more than 2,000 types of medicines and about 300 types of surgical equipment. They are sold at 50 to 80 percent lower prices compared to branded medicines.
▪ So far, 15,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras (JAKS) have been opened throughout the country.

Hague Service Convention
▪ Context : On February , 2025, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requested assistance from the Government of India under the Hague Service Convention.
About the Hague Service Convention
▪ The Hague Service Convention was established in 1965.
▪ It aims to facilitate the service of judicial documents across international borders.
▪ The Convention ensures that defendants receive timely notice of legal actions.
▪ It is a multilateral treaty with 84 signatory states, including India and the U.S.
▪ Each member state designates a central authority to handle service requests.
