Vazhndhu Kattuvom
The Vazhndhu Kattuvom Project (VKP), formerly known as the Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project (TNRTP), launched on 2017
Project Goals:
✓ Promote rural enterprises.
✓ Enable access to finance.
✓ Create employment opportunities.
✓ Build sustainability and prosperity in rural communities.
Implementation:
✓ Implemented by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.
✓ Operates in 120 blocks across 31 districts of Tamil Nadu.
Funding:
✓ Funded by the World Bank and the Government of Tamil Nadu in a 70:30 ratio.
