Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets ISRO scientists in Bengaluru 

  • Mr. Modi addressed the scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru. 
  • The point on the South Pole of the moon where the Vikram lander of Chandrayaan3 landed will be called ‘Shiv Shakti’. 
  • The point where Chandrayaan2 left its footprint on the lunar surface will be called ‘Tiranga’. 
  • August 23 will be commemorated as National Space Day
