Environment and Ecology E-flow Monitoring System ▪ Union Jal Shakti Ministry recently launched an e-flow (Environmental Flow) ecological monitoring system. ▪ It allows the real-time monitoring of water quality of Ganga, Yamuna and their tributaries and check performance of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) ▪ The system was developed by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). ▪ The system also monitors the activities of ‘Namami Gange Programme’ Note ▪ NMCG (2011) - Implementation arm of National Ganga Council (2016). ▪ ‘Namami Gange Programme’ (June 2014) - An Integrated Conservation Mission with twin objectives of effective abatement of pollution, conservation and rejuvenation of River Ganga.
