Community based cancer screening in four districts

    • Community based cancer screening has been launched in four districts.
  • The Health Minister Ma. Subramanian inaugurated the screening at the health and wellness centre at Kalingarayanpalayam in Bhavani town in Erode district, and through video conference at Ranipet, Kanniyakumari and Tirupattur districts.
  • It will be extended to a few more districts in the coming years.
  • Under this scheme, random screening will be done for everyone above 18 years of age, breast cancer screening and cervical cancer screening for women above 30 years of age.

Three noon-meal centres awarded ISO certification

  • Noon meal centres at three government schools in Pudukottai district have bagged ISO 9001:2015 certification for complying with Quality Management System in providing nutritious meals to students from the Chennai based Quest Certification (Private) Limited.

This is the first time that noon meal centres in Pudukottai district have bagged the ISO certification.
