Bharathidasan Birth Anniversary
▪ On the occasion of Paveanthar Bharathidasan’s birth anniversary, the Chief Minister announced in the Legislative Assembly that Tamil Week Festival will be celebrated.
▪ Tamil Week Festival will be celebrated for one week from April 29 to May 5.
▪ During this week, various events will be held throughout Tamil Nadu to celebrate the Tamil
language and Bharathidasan’s contributions.
▪ As part of this, a young writer or scholar who excels in Tamil language will be awarded the
‘Bharathidasan Izham Padaippalar’ award.
