Thozhi’ working women’s hostels
▪ Hostels for women will be constructed at a cost of ₹176.93 crores in Chennai Taramani,
Cheppaakkam, Madurai, Coimbatore, Nagapattinam, Krishnagiri, Erode, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Theni, Sivaganga, Ranipet, and Karur.
Nutrition Program
▪ The Social Welfare Department has reported that 74% of children have recovered from severe malnutrition to normal condition.
▪ The “Ensure Nutrition” program was launched in 2022 by the Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Department. The department announced this program to create a prosperous and healthy future for children under six years of age, keeping their health in consideration.
▪ In the first phase of the “Ensure Nutrition” program, the growth status of 37,79,407 children across Tamil Nadu was monitored.
▪ The second phase of the “Ensure Nutrition” program was launched in Ariyalur district in November last year
