Second Synchronized Elephant Survey
▪ Tamil Nadu is set to begin the second synchronized elephant survey.
▪ The survey will be done in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
▪ In Tamil Nadu the survey will be conducted in 26 forest divisions and 697 blocks teams of forest guards, forest watchers, and volunteers.
Note
▪ 2,961 elephants were recorded in Tamil Nadu in 2022.
▪ The Elephant Corridor Committee identified the 42 elephant corridors in Tamil Nadu.
