▪ NITI Aayog has recommended tailored agricultural strategies to address specific constraints faced by each state and its districts to ensure balanced and sustainable growth in national pulse
production.
▪ In a report : “strategies and pathways for accelerating growth in polses towards the goal of atma nirbharta”
NITI Aayog’s recommendations:
✓ Area retention and diversification – region specific pulse clusters
✓ Technology Adoption – Agro-ecology based customised technologies
✓ Seed Quality and Distribution- high quality seed kits
✓ Cluster-based hubs- “one block-one seed village”
✓ Mission for Atmanirbharta in pulses- six-year plan
✓ Projection – 2030:30.59 MT, 2047:45.79 MT
▪ Goal: self- sufficiency in pulses and reduced import dependence by 2047
