Gandhiji’s 157th birth anniversary
▪ On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government, Gandhiji’s 157th birth anniversary is being
celebrated.
Gandhi – Brief Notes
▪ Birth: 2 October 1869, Porbandar, Gujarat.
▪ Death: 30 January 1948, Delhi.
▪ Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was the first person to call him the Father of the Nation.
▪ It is said that Rabindranath Tagore conferred the title “Mahatma” on Gandhiji.
▪ He edited several newspapers, including Harijan in Gujarati, Indian Opinion in South Africa, and
Young India in English.
▪ He also wrote several books, among which his autobiography “The Story of My Experiments with
Truth” is important.
Naan Muthalvan Scheme
▪ Launched in March 2022 by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
▪ Its objective is to provide skill training to 10 lakh students annually.
▪ It is a comprehensive program that develops the skills of Tamil Nadu youth and prepares them for
employment.
