World Teachers’ Day- 5 October
▪ World Teachers’ Day is celebrated annually on 5 October to honour all teachers around the world.
▪ Theme – The celebrations will focus on the theme
▪ He was deeply inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas of non-violence and freedom.
▪ A statue of this martyr has been erected in Tiruppur by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Subramania Siva
▪ Year of Birth – September 4, 1884
▪ He was an Indian freedom fighter, writer, and orator.
▪ He was known by the title “Indian Patriot” (Desabhaktan).
▪ He founded journals such as India and Desabhaktan, and wrote articles on freedom, patriotism, and social awareness.
▪ The Kandalur Madam in Tirupathur district was renamed as Subramania Siva Madam after his demise.
▪ The Government of Tamil Nadu has established a memorial for Subramania Siva in Madurai.
