Legal Provisions Related to the High Court
▪ The total sanctioned strength of judges in the Madras High Court is 75, while the current number of judges is 56.
▪ Articles 214 to 231 of the Constitution deal with the appointment and tenure of judges.
▪ Based on the recommendations of the Collegium, the President appoints judges to the Supreme Court and High Courts.
Collegium:
▪ It is a body consisting of the Chief Justice and senior judges of the Supreme Court and the High Court Courts in India.
▪ It is responsible for recommending and reviewing judicial appointments
