Defence Production of the Country Has Increased Threefold
- The Prime Minister has said that the value of the country’s defence sector production has increased threefold and crossed Rs. 1.5 lakh crore.
- INS Vikrant, the largest aircraft carrier built at the Kochi shipyard, was commissioned into the Navy in 2022. It is the first aircraft carrier built domestically.
- Ditya (another aircraft carrier). INS Surat, INS Marmagao, INS Chennai, INS Imphal, INS Kolkatta, INS Tushil, INS Thapar, INS Tej, INS Petwa, INS Deepak, INS Aditya, proved their mettle with the Brahmos and Akash missiles during Operation Sindhu.
