Namma School Namma Ooru School Scheme
- ‘Namma School Namma Ooru School’ scheme was launched in Chennai on 19th December 2022.
- It was launched under the Department of School Education.
- It aims to upgrade infrastructure and facilities in government and government-aided schools across Tamil Nadu through public–private partnership and community participation.
Gold coins from the Vijayanagara Empire.
- 103 gold coins from the Vijayanagara Empire were found in a temple in Kovilur Panchayat, Javathumalai Ondriyam, Tiruvannamalai District.
- The original Arunachaleswarar temple was built about 500 years ago during the Vijayanagara Empire.
- There were 103 coins in the gold coin hoard.
Tamil Nadu Endangered Species Conservation Fund
- The Tamil Nadu Endangered Species Conservation Fund was established to strengthen conservation measures for endangered species across the State.
- It ensures focused funding, scientific management, and long-term conservation of vulnerable flora and fauna.
- Established in November 2024 with a corpus of ₹50 crore and an initial seed money sanction of ₹5 crore.
- Initially managed by the State Forest Development Agency; now transferred to the Advanced Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC), Vandalur for scientific oversight.
- Committees Constituted: A Governing Committee and an Executive Committee were constituted via an order
- issued by Supriya Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forests Department, on November 1.
