India’s Achievement
- According to the National Multidimensional Poverty Index, India has helped 2.8 crore people, including children, move out of poverty between 2013-14 and 2022-23.
- As a result, the country’s multidimensional poverty rate has declined from 29.2% to 11.3%.
- Strong social sector investments drove major poverty reduction.
- Key schemes contributing to progress: Poshan Abhiyan, Samagra Shiksha, PM-Kisan, Mid-Day Meal, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat, Jal Jeevan Yojana.
- India’s robust digital public infrastructure enabled efficient delivery of welfare services at scale.
