Jagadeesan (Erode Tamilanban)
- Received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2004 for his poetry collection “Vanakkam Valluva”, based on the Tirukkural.
- Tamilanban has authored over 90 books, including poetry works such as “Tīvagal Karaiyerukin Suriya Raayal Vaaran Tha Tehvalam,” “Bani Peiyum Pagal,” and “Iraup Padagan.”
- He was a major figure in the Vaanampadi poetry movement, following the literary tradition of Bharathidasan.
- Recipient of several honours: Kalaimamani, Sahitya Akademi Award, Bharathidasan Award, Tamil Nadu Government Best Book Award, Kuranpita Award, Kalaignar Award (Murasoli Foundation), and the Kaviko Award.
