Roadmap for a Future-Ready Integrated Force

  • Indian President inaugurated the Indian Army’s Chanakya Defence Dialogue-2025 and praised the armed forces for their professionalism and patriotism.
  • Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi unveiled a comprehensive three-phase road map to transform the Army into an integrated, future-ready force by 2047.
  • The plan is aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat and the government’s push for reforms and technological advancement.
  • The declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Reforms” by the Defence Minister has accelerated the Army’s modernisation efforts.

Three Phases of Transformation

  • Phase 1 (till 2032):
  • Forms the core of the Army’s “Decade of Transformation”.
  • Focus on capability development, force restructuring, and enhanced operational readiness.
  • Phase 2 (2032–2037):
  • Consolidation phase to strengthen and stabilise gains achieved in the first decade.
  • Phase 3 (2037–2047):
  • Envisions a fully integrated force design prepared for next-generation warfare.
