Tamil Nadu tops in industrial energy efficiency
- The Tamil Nadu government has announced that Tamil Nadu ranks first in India in industrial energy efficiency, scoring 55.3%.
- In industrial energy efficiency, Tamil Nadu has scored 55.3 percent in Group 1 of the State Energy Efficiency Index 2024.
- Tamil Nadu has set a record by achieving the top position in the Indian level.
- Andhra Pradesh leads Group 2 with 27.5 percent. Odisha has grown by 23.1 percent, Chhattisgarh by 28.8 percent, Madhya Pradesh by 16.5 percent and Tripura by 10.9 percent, making strong progress.
- Tamil Nadu is also among the top 3 states with the highest number of certified green buildings.
- In recognition of energy conservation efforts, 25 states have received Energy Conservation Awards.
