- Bill proposes setting up of higher education commission along with three councils
- It seeks to subsume the functions of the University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical education, National Council for Teachers Education
Viksit Bharat — Guarantee For Rozgar And Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill
- The Union government is set to introduce to replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005
- To “establish a rural development framework aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047”.
- The move will mark a shift from a “demand-driven framework” to a “supply-driven scheme”.
- The VB-G RAM G Bill increases the number of guaranteed workdays from 100 to 125.
- Fund Share: States 40%, Centre 60%.
About Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005
- Launched in 2005 by the Ministry of Rural development.
- The primary objective of the scheme is to guarantee 100 days of employment in every financial year.
- One-third of beneficiaries have to be women.
- Fund Share: States 10%, Centre 90%
- Under the MGNREGA, the Union government was responsible for 100% of the labour wages and 75% of the material wages.
SHANTI (Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear energy for Transforming India) Bill
- Aims to incentivise private sector participation, both Indian and foreign, in nuclear power production.
- It does this by replacing India’s existing laws — the Atomic Energy Act, 1962 and the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage (CLND) Act, 2010
- India’s long term energy and climate goals which includes decarbonisation by 2070
- Target of achieving 100 gigawatts of nuclear power capacity by 2047

About Central Information Commission
- The Central Information Commission is a statutory body established under the Right to Information Act, of 2005
- Appointed by the President on the recommendation of a Committee consisting of:
- The Prime Minister as the Chairperson,
- The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha
- A Union Cabinet Minister nominated by the Prime Minister
- Term: 3 years from date of taking office or age 65, whichever is earlier.
- Reappointment: Not eligible for reappointment.
