- Context: Cool roof scheme to be extended to 297 green schools across Tamil Nadu.

- Under the initiative, the classrooms of a government school in Ambattur had been coated with heat-reflective white paint.
- 1.5°C–3°C reduction in indoor temperature using heat-reflective white paint, confirmed through sensors.

- Tamil Nadu is the first state in India to launch its own climate change mission.
- Objection of the mission is to make climate smart state.
- To expand collective human action to respond to climate change.
- Reduce Greenhouse gases.
