President Grants Assent to VB-G RAM G Bill, Replacing MGNREGA
- President Droupadi Murmu granted assent to the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Bill.
- The new Act replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)

- The number of guaranteed days of work from 100 to 125.
- Cost sharing ratio between centre and states 60:40,between centre and Northeastern and Himalayan states 90:10.
- The provision for providing compensation if employment is not offered within 15 days continues in the new law as well.

- Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005
- MGNREGA was a rights-based legislation inspired by Article 41 of the Constitution of India.
- It gave every rural household the right to demand 100 days of employment per year.
- It was unique because it was universal and without any limitations.
- It did not target any special social category such as Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes.
- The Union government was responsible for 100% of the labour wages and 75% of the material wages.
- 90:10 cost share between the Centre and the States.
- One-third of the employees must be women.
- Employment should be provided within a 5 km radius; if it is beyond 5 km, additional compensation will be provided.
- Article 41: To secure the right to work, to education and to public assistance in cases of unemployment, old age, sickness and disability.
President Grants Assent to SHANTI Bill
- President Droupadi Murmu granted assent to Sustainable Harnessing Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India.
- The new law repeals the Atomic Energy Act of 1962 and the Nuclear Liability Act of 2010.
- Private companies will receive permission to build, operate, and maintain nuclear power plants.
- Security and strategic sectors (uranium, thorium mining, nuclear fuel, reprocessing) will remain under the control of the Central Government.
