Moonshot project

  • Context : The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Pratiksha Trust have launched a “Moonshot” project aimed at developing AI-based brain co-processors to support stroke rehabilitation.

  • The Moonshot project aims to develop advanced brain–computer technologies to assist or restore brain functions lost due to neurological disorders.
  • It focuses on helping stroke survivors regain movement and coordination, especially functions like reaching and grasping.
  • The project seeks to develop AI-driven closed-loop neural devices that can decode brain signals and stimulate brain activity to aid recovery.

SWAYATT

  • Context: Government e-Marketplace (GeM) celebrated 7 years of the SWAYATT initiative to promote inclusive public procurement in India.

About SWAYATT

  • SWAYATT (Startups, Women and Youth Advantage through e-Transactions) was launched on 19 February 2019.
    • The initiative aims to enable startups, women entrepreneurs, youth, MSEs and Self Help Groups (SHGs) to participate directly in government procurement.
  • It focuses on solving three key challenges access to markets, access to finance, and value addition opportunities.
  • Through GeM’s digital platform, sellers can connect directly with government buyers, reducing entry barriers.
  • Dedicated portals such as Startup Runway and Womaniya improve visibility of startups and women-led enterprises.

The initiative strengthens inclusive economic growth and digital public procurement in India.
