- A 120 MW ‘Run-of-River’ (utilizing the natural flow of the river) hydropower project has been planned within the Kopili River basin in Assam.
- It is situated within the autonomous district council areas of West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao (North Cachar Hills).
- The project has been developed by, and operates under the aegis of, the Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited.
- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is providing funding for this project under the Assam Power Sector Investment Program.
Kopili River

- The Kopili is a river that flows through the states of Meghalaya and Assam.
- In Assam, it is the largest of the southern-bank tributaries of the Brahmaputra River.
- It originates in the Meghalaya Plateau, flows through the districts of Karbi Anglong and Nagaon, and eventually joins the Brahmaputra River.
- Its total length is 256 km (of which 78 km forms the Meghalaya–Assam border, while the remaining 178 km lies within the state of Assam).
