About the Konyak Tribe
- The Konyak tribe is found in the Mon district of Nagaland, as well as in the Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
- The Konyak community follows a patriarchal system. Typically, the father’s assets are inherited by the eldest son.
- Aolingmonyu, Animo, and Laun-Ongmo are their most important festivals.
- Their most significant harvest festival is ‘Aoleang Monyu.’ It is celebrated during the first week of April.
