    • Lord Cornwallis is regarded as the “Father of Civil Services” in the pre-independence era, whereas Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is hailed as the architect of the modern civil services.
  • The framework for civil services within the Indian Constitution is based on Article 312 and the All India Services Act of 1951.
