  • Context: The Indian Army successfully carried out ‘Op Netra 1.0’, a four-day high-altitude eye care initiative in Leh, benefiting around 950 patients with advanced surgical treatment.

About Op Netra 1.0

  • ‘Op Netra 1.0’ was a specialised advanced surgical eye camp organised by the Indian Army.
  • Conducted at the 153 General Hospital in Leh, under the guidance of the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services.
  • The main purpose was to deliver specialised ophthalmic care and extend humanitarian medical services to people living in remote, high-altitude areas.
  • It focused on overcoming geographical challenges to ensure access to essential healthcare for all.
