Maternal and Child Health
- Institutional Deliveries: Increased from 88.6 percent to 90.6 percent.
- Antenatal Care (ANC): The proportion of pregnant women receiving antenatal care increased from 92.6 percent to 95.9 percent.
- First Trimester Care: The number of mothers receiving ANC care within the first three months (first trimester) of pregnancy increased from 70.0 percent to 76.2 percent.
- Minimum Care: The number of mothers who underwent at least four ANC check-ups increased from 58.5 percent to 65.2 percent.
- Skilled Deliveries: Deliveries conducted in the presence of skilled health personnel increased from 89.4 percent to 91.3 percent.
- Postnatal Care: The proportion of mothers receiving care within two days of delivery increased from 79.1 percent to 85.3 percent. Family Planning
- Total Fertility Rate (TFR): India’s Total Fertility Rate remains stable at 2.0.
- Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR): This has increased from 66.7 percent to 69.1 percent.
Immunization
- Full Immunization: Full immunization coverage for children aged 12 to 23 months has increased from 83.8 percent to 87.1 percent.
- Minimum Immunization: More than 96 percent of children have received at least one vaccine dose.
- Role of Government Hospitals: 95.6 percent of children received the majority of their vaccinations through government health facilities.
- Rotavirus Vaccine: Coverage for this vaccine has increased significantly, rising from 36.4 percent to 85.4 percent.
- Measles Vaccine: Coverage for the second dose of the measles vaccine has increased from 58.6 percent to 71.8 percent.
Child Nutrition
- Stunting: The prevalence of stunting among children under five years of age has decreased from 35.5 percent to 29.3 percent.
- Severe Wasting: This has decreased from 7.7 percent to 5.2 percent.
- Underweight: The rate for underweight children has declined slightly, from 32.1 percent to 31.8 percent.
- Complementary Feeding: The provision of complementary food to children aged 6 to 8 months has increased from 45.9 percent to 59.5 percent. Health Insurance Coverage
- Insurance Reach: The proportion of families covered under health insurance or medical financing schemes has increased from 41.0 percent to 60.2 percent.
- The “Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana” (PM-JAY) scheme has been a key driver behind this significant growth.
Women’s Empowerment and Financial Inclusion
- Internet Usage: The percentage of women who have ever used the internet has doubled, rising from 33.3 percent to 64.3 percent.
- Bank Accounts: The proportion of women who independently operate their own bank accounts has increased from 78.6 percent to 89.0 percent.
- Mobile Phone Usage: The percentage of women who own and use a mobile phone has risen from 53.9 percent to 63.6 percent.
- Menstrual Hygiene: Among women aged 15 to 24, the use of hygienic menstrual protection methods has increased from 77.6 percent to 79.2 percent.
