- The ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’—also known as ‘World Drug Day’—is observed globally every year on June 26.
- The theme for World Drug Day 2026 is “The evidence is clear: Invest in prevention.”
- As part of the nationwide observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, launched ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah’ (Drug-Free India Week) from June 17 to 26, 2026, under the local theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchan” (Drug-Free India – The Identity of a Developed India).
